£400 seems very decent, for Diwali time. I hope to go end of the year, and yes, Sig11, thats when it gets really expensive.

The problem with airline fares is that they jack it up *so much* during Dec-Jan time that it can easily be around half-month’s salary to fly from an European city to Asia. Just a couple of days ago, I was looking at BMI flights towards Asian cities and I saw a marked increase in the price of the ticks beginning of Dec.

I’m off to India in Oct on BA. Tkts were rather inexpensive compared to what one normally gets because of Diwali. Abt £400 each.

I can vouch for Jet being fantastic to fly with…..the best service and food in the skies without a doubt.

Try Virtual Tourist. Not only do they have trip planners, they have a forum where you can ask for help. Good option if you’re not travelling tomorrow and have a few weeks in hand.

Thanks, Anjali. Am gonna try that. So, far everything we looked at is coming to more than 1200, without even adding the internal flights in India.

Northwest has really cheap flights from Amsterdam to Bombay (~450 Euros). That’s probably the route all those Indian ‘terrorists’ got bummed out of.

I have also flown via London on Jet Airways. Fares are pretty good and the service is fantastic. The food on the flight is out of this world!
